Deccan Manav Seva Samiti Submits Suggestions at Ashada Bonalu Review Meeting

Hyderabad, June 24:

Members of Deccan Manav Seva Samiti (DMS) participated in the Ashada Bonalu review meeting held at the MCRHRD Institute, Jubilee Hills, under the chairmanship of Minister Shri Ponnam Prabhakar.

Speaking on the occasion, Shashank Pasupuleti urged the authorities to ensure that devotees and members of the public who gather during the night to witness Bonalu festivities, cultural performances, and traditional events are provided with adequate facilities and are not unnecessarily dispersed.

He also highlighted the cultural significance of Pothurajus, who are traditionally regarded as the brothers and protectors of Goddess Mahankali in Telangana’s Bonalu celebrations. He requested that Pothurajus be given due respect and be allowed to participate in temple-related traditional rituals and processions in accordance with established customs and traditions.

The Samiti further suggested strengthening public convenience measures, improving police-public coordination, introducing battery-operated vehicles for elderly and differently-abled devotees, and promoting Telangana’s rich cultural heritage through traditional performances during the Bonalu festival.

The suggestions were submitted with the objective of making the Ashada Bonalu celebrations more inclusive, culturally vibrant, and devotee-friendly.

Senior DMS members Konka Raghu Mohan, Hari Babu Yadav, T. Vasundhar, C.K. Narsing Rao,  Naidu, Raju , sidhuluSeelam Anurag, and other senior members of Deccan Manav Seva Samiti actively participated in the meeting and extended their support to the proposals placed before the government.
