Hyderabad: Starting on Thursday, GHMC’s annual summer camps provided children in the city with an enjoyable diversion. Commissioner Ronald Rose took part in the opening ceremonies for the camps at Kukatpally Housing Board Colony Ground and PJR Stadium in Chandanagar.
For boys and girls between the ages of six and sixteen, the camps will take place in more than 900 locations throughout the city for 37 days, ending on May 31.
44 different sports, including basketball, kabaddi, tennis, karate, cricket, and swimming, are receiving guidance this year. If asked, indoor games will also be set up at the grounds in addition to these.
The Commissioner urged parents to help their children pursue the sports of their choosing, stating that youngsters should be involved in sports in addition to their education.
In a press release, he stated that the goal is to lessen the mental strain on kids who are fed up with studying all year long. He also mentioned that kids who attended these camps went on to become successful players at the state and national levels.
Children have been provided with high-quality equipment for each sport, in addition to knowledgeable coaches. The camp is reasonably priced, with prices ranging from Rs. 10 to Rs. 50. There are also other competitions scheduled for the last day of the camps, where kids will receive awards and certificates.
Zonal Commissioner Abhilasha Abhinav, coaches, students, and their parents, as well as representatives from the GHMC sports department participated in the program.
