Former Minister and senior MLA T. Harish Rao strongly criticised the Union Government, calling the recent US hike in H-1B visa fees and 25% tariffs on labour-intensive sectors a “diplomatic failure.”
He said the move has caused distress for millions of families, thousands of industries, and lakhs of Indian students in the US, while parents of children working abroad are deeply traumatised. Rao urged External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to take urgent steps to protect the interests of Indian students, professionals, and industries.
