The Ministry of Tourism has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google India Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen the digital promotion of India’s tourism destinations. Signed in New Delhi in the presence of Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the partnership aims to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technologies, and data-driven insights to enhance the visibility of India’s cultural, historical, spiritual, and natural attractions.
The collaboration focuses on improving the online discoverability of tourist destinations, delivering AI-powered visitor experiences, analyzing global travel trends, and strengthening digital marketing capabilities. It also includes capacity-building initiatives for Ministry officials and supports the promotion of the Incredible India campaign through Google’s digital ecosystem. The agreement is non-commercial, non-binding, and non-exclusive, with no financial implications for either party.
By integrating AI, digital storytelling, and immersive online experiences, the partnership seeks to attract more domestic and international tourists while positioning India as a modern, accessible, and globally preferred travel destination. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of digital transformation, sustainable tourism, and cultural promotion.
