Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Envisions Hyderabad as a Global Cinema Hub: TFDC Chairman Dil Raju
Hyderabad, Telangana – In a significant step towards elevating the Telugu film industry’s global stature, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with prominent members of the industry, including Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman Dil Raju, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday. The meeting focused on strategies to develop the film industry at both national and international levels.

Dil Raju, addressing the media post-meeting, expressed gratitude for the Chief Minister’s guidance and emphasized the state’s commitment to the industry. “There is no truth to the negative news being circulated about the meeting. Misrepresented narratives are spreading, but I want to clarify that the government is entirely supportive of the film industry,” he stated.
Highlighting CM Revanth Reddy’s vision, Dil Raju shared, “The Chief Minister envisions Hyderabad becoming a global hub for cinema, capable of accommodating Hollywood productions. This meeting was highly productive, and we will present a detailed proposal in the next discussion based on his inputs.”
Dil Raju dismissed speculation that the meeting focused on issues like ticket pricing and benefit shows. Instead, he clarified that the primary agenda was to strategize on the industry’s growth. “CM garu encouraged us to position Hyderabad as a global cinema hub, just as it has become a hub for pharma and IT sectors,” he added.
The Chief Minister also urged the film fraternity to promote social awareness initiatives and collaborate with the government on cultural and social programs. Notably, plans to institutionalize the “Gaddar Film Awards” as an annual event were also discussed, with the FDC playing a pivotal role in their execution.
Regarding the recent stampede at Sandhya Theatre, Dil Raju mentioned that the police had not shared any footage related to the incident. However, the DGP has instructed accountability from industry representatives for bouncers’ behavior during events.
To ensure smoother collaboration between the government and the industry, a committee comprising representatives from both sides will be established. Dil Raju affirmed his commitment as TFDC Chairman, stating, “I will act as a bridge between the industry and the government to achieve these goals collectively.”
The meeting marks a significant milestone in the state’s ambition to position Hyderabad as a world-class destination for cinema, fostering growth for the Telugu film industry on a global scale.
