District Election Officer Ronald Rose directed the counting staff to perform their duties effectively so that the counting process of the Lok Sabha elections is done smoothly and transparently.
As part of the Lok Sabha elections, training classes on counting process were conducted for Micro Observers, Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and AROs at Komaram Bheem Building in Banjara Hills on Saturday.
On this occasion, District Election Officer, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that the counting staff should perform the counting of votes effectively. He said that a total of 16 counting centers have been set up in the district for the counting of votes. There will be supervision to ensure that the counting of votes is done segment wise, the counting will start at 8:00 am and the counting of votes should start at the appointed time.
He said that the rules of the Election Commission should be followed without any room for mistakes. He said that if any technical problem occurs in the EVMs during the counting of votes, the relevant experts will be available and fix it.
According to the instructions of the Election Commission, 14 tables are being set up in each hall for the counting of votes in all segments and the counting will be done round wise. He explained that each table has a micro observer, counting supervisor and counting assistant. He said that the role of micro-observers is very crucial in the process of counting votes in a transparent way, and the micro-observers have to give each round-wise report to the election observers. Any problem in the counting process should be reported to the ARO.
It has been clarified that mobile phones are not allowed in the counting hall. He wants to have a full understanding of all the matters related to the counting process. He urged them to perform their duties with complete transparency and commitment while following the rules.
