The Telangana government is planning to develop Hyderabad’s core urban city as a major recreational hub. As part of this, it has prioritized the development of Gandhi Sarovar as another key attraction for the city. According to officials of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Gandhi Sarovar is considered the northeastern gateway to the city.

  • Around ₹9 crore has been sanctioned for the development works of Gandhi Sarovar.
  • The project works will extend from Shamshabad Airport to the Outer Ring Road.
  • The total project cost is estimated at ₹35 crore.
  • It aims to transform Gandhi Sarovar into an attractive spot for tourists.
  • Development will include parks, lighting facilities, and landscaping around the lake.
  • Budget allocation has also been made for layout design and road construction.

The government’s vision is to make Gandhi Sarovar a premier destination for both tourists and locals, offering recreation and relaxation. Once completed, this project is expected to become another unique attraction for Hyderabad city.
