India to Honour Patel, Birsa Munda & Vajpayee with National Committees

The Government of India has formed three high-level committees chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the 150th birth anniversaries of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Birsa Munda, along with the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. These committees will oversee events, campaigns, and cultural programs nationwide.

Honouring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Known as the Iron Man of India, Patel was instrumental in integrating 565 princely states post-independence and shaping India’s administrative framework. The committee will highlight his role in national unity, leadership, and institution-building.

Celebrating Birsa Munda’s Tribal Legacy

A symbol of tribal resistance, Birsa Munda led the Ulgulan movement against British exploitation. Activities will focus on tribal culture, heritage, and contributions to India’s freedom struggle, aligning with Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

Marking Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Centenary

A revered statesman, Vajpayee is remembered for the Pokhran-II nuclear tests, the Golden Quadrilateral project, and his commitment to good governance. His centenary celebrations will include public awareness campaigns, seminars, cultural programs, and youth competitions.

These initiatives aim to inspire citizens by celebrating the lives and legacies of leaders who shaped India’s unity, resilience, and democratic spirit.
