The Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), launched in 2015, has emerged as a cornerstone of India’s organic farming revolution by 2025. Focused on cluster-based organic farming, the scheme encourages eco-friendly practices, reduces chemical dependency, and enhances soil health and farmer income.
Under PKVY, farmers are organized into clusters of 20 hectares, receiving ₹31,500 per hectare over three years for inputs, certification, and training. Two certification systems—Participatory Guarantee System (PGS-India) for domestic markets and NPOP for exports—ensure authenticity.
By 2025, over 25 lakh farmers across 15 lakh hectares have benefited, forming 52,000+ clusters nationwide. The Jaivik Kheti Portal further bridges farmers and markets, promoting transparency and fair trade. States like Sikkim, now fully organic, exemplify PKVY’s success in creating a sustainable agricultural future for India.
