Goa Becomes First State to Achieve 100% Response to Cyber Fraud Calls

Goa has set a national benchmark in cybercrime prevention by becoming the first Indian state to ensure a complete response rate to cyber fraud calls. Its cloud-based 1930 Cyber Fraud Call Centre has significantly enhanced accessibility and efficiency in handling online financial crime complaints.

The centre, operating 24/7 with a trained nine-member team, has handled over 5,000 calls and officially registered 581 complaints. Importantly, officers also returned nearly 1,500 missed calls—ensuring every citizen attempting to report a cyber fraud received attention. Officials call this a major leap forward in citizen-centric policing.

The system features automated recording of caller details, improved voice clarity, and real-time documentation. Supervisors regularly review call recordings to ensure quality and intervene instantly if service standards are not met. Senior officers can also monitor ongoing calls, enhancing transparency and accountability.

With cyber fraud losses in Goa nearing ₹100 crore this year, faster reporting through the new mechanism has helped police take quicker action to block transactions and recover funds. The improved response model is being seen as a potential blueprint for other states aiming to strengthen cyber safety and digital trust.
