Bengaluru Tops Savills Index as World’s Fastest-Growing City by 2035

By Soniya:

Bengaluru has been ranked the world’s fastest-growing major city through 2035 in Savills’ Growth Hubs Index, highlighting its rising global economic importance. The index, part of Savills’ Resilient Cities research programme, evaluated 245 cities based on projected GDP growth, demographic trends, personal wealth expansion, inward migration, and the number of high-income households.

The city’s top ranking is largely driven by its strong talent pool and its position as a leading hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). These centres, established by multinational companies for functions such as technology, finance, and analytics, have significantly boosted Bengaluru’s economic activity and global connectivity.

The report also underscores the dominance of the Asia-Pacific region in urban growth. Around three-quarters of the top 50 cities and 85% of the top 20 are from this region, including cities like Manila and Kuala Lumpur. This reflects a broader shift toward emerging economies as key drivers of global urban expansion.

Bengaluru’s growth trajectory is expected to fuel demand across real estate sectors, including housing, office spaces, and infrastructure development. Its recognition in the index reinforces its status as a major global urban centre and a key player in long-term economic and property market growth.
