India Hosts 68th APO Governing Body Meeting 2026 in New Delhi

India is hosting the 68th Governing Body Meeting of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) from May 20 to 22, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. As the current Chair of the APO, India is welcoming over 60 senior delegates, policymakers, and productivity experts from 20 member economies across the Asia-Pacific region.

The summit focuses on productivity reforms, sustainable economic growth, innovation, and regional cooperation. Key agenda items include the review of APO Vision 2030, budget planning for 2027–28, governance reforms, and leadership elections for the next APO Chair and Vice Chairs.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is expected to attend the inaugural session. Observers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bhutan, and the Global Green Growth Institute are also participating in the discussions.

A major highlight of the event is the APO National Awards Program, which recognizes productivity advocates and technical experts for their contributions toward innovation and operational excellence.

The meeting highlights India’s growing leadership role in regional economic cooperation and productivity-driven development in the Asia-Pacific region.
