PM Modi Chairs 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council Meeting, Focuses on Viksit Bharat 2047

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi, themed “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat@2047.” The meeting witnessed participation from Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, and Administrators from across the country, marking the first time all 28 states were represented.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister emphasized that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 must become a collective mission extending from the national level to every district, block, and village. He highlighted the importance of cooperative federalism and stronger collaboration between the Centre and States to sustain India’s growth momentum.

A key focus of the meeting was India’s demographic advantage, with nearly 70 crore citizens below the age of 25. PM Modi urged states to invest in quality education, skill development, and future-ready employment opportunities to transform the country’s demographic dividend into a development dividend.

The Prime Minister also encouraged states to leverage recently concluded free trade agreements, attract investments, and promote export-oriented industries. Highlighting emerging sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, data centres, and defence manufacturing, he called on states to prepare youth for the evolving economy.

The meeting further stressed the importance of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and women-led development. PM Modi urged states to support local products, boost exports, and expand the number of Lakhpati Didis from 3 crore to 6 crore.

The council also discussed challenges such as cybercrime, digital fraud, and drug abuse, emphasizing awareness, prevention, and effective governance. The meeting reinforced India’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development on the path to becoming a developed nation by 2047.
