11 Uttar Pradesh Schools Earn National Recognition in Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating 2025-26

Eleven schools from Uttar Pradesh have earned national recognition in the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26, a prestigious assessment that evaluates schools on cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and green practices. The rating, conducted by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Union Ministry of Education, selected 191 schools from across India.

Among the top-performing schools from Uttar Pradesh, Dayawati Modi Academy-1, Meerut secured Rank 4, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Hariharpur Rani (Shravasti) achieved Rank 9, and PM Shri Primary School, Italia Mafi (Sambhal) secured Rank 12. The selected institutions include six government schools, two Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, two schools from other categories, and one private school.

The SHVR framework assesses schools on key parameters such as sanitation, water conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, green campus development, and community participation. The initiative encourages educational institutions to adopt environmentally responsible practices and create healthier learning environments.

Each recognized school will receive a national certificate of merit along with financial assistance of ₹21 lakh to support the maintenance and expansion of sustainability-related activities. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has announced plans to honor the top 20 schools at the state level for their contributions to cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

The achievement highlights Uttar Pradesh’s growing commitment to promoting eco-friendly and sustainable educational institutions while supporting the objectives of cleaner and greener schools across India.
