Hyderabad, August 2026: Congress leader Gampa Venugopal has been appointed Chairman of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (SSA) in Telangana with immediate effect, as part of the party’s organisational activities in the State.
In his new role, Venugopal will oversee the coordination, monitoring and implementation of activities connected with SSA Connect Centres across Telangana. The assignment includes coordination between different levels of the party organisation and implementation of programmes under the initiative.
The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is an organisational exercise of the Congress aimed at strengthening its structure and improving coordination with party functionaries at the grassroots level.
Venugopal has been associated with the Congress for more than three decades and has held responsibilities in the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and NRI Congress. He was also involved in activities connected with the Telangana statehood movement.
He holds three Master’s degrees and has been involved in SSA-related organisational
activities in Telangana.
The programme in the State is being carried out under TPCC president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and AICC Secretary Sachin Sawant.
As SSA chairman, Venugopal will be responsible for coordinating the initiative across Telangana and reviewing the functioning of its Connect Centres. His responsibilities will also include monitoring implementation and facilitating coordination between the State-level organisation and functionaries working at other organisational levels.
