Secunderabad, August 17: The Secunderabad District unit of the Congress SC Department on Monday organized a protest condemning the recent incident involving All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge, describing it as an attack on the values of social justice and constitutional democracy.
The protest was held following a call issued by TPCC SC Department chairman and Manakondur MLA Dr. Kavvampally Satyanarayana. Party leaders and workers gathered in large numbers, raising slogans in support of constitutional rights and demanding respect for democratic institutions.
The demonstration was led by TPCC SC Cell vice chairman and Secunderabad Parliament in-charge Advocate Nareen Raja and Secunderabad District SC Department president Dasari Shyam Sundar.
Addressing the gathering, Christian Minority chairman and senior Secunderabad District Congress Committee (DCC) leader Shri Deepak John said that disrespect toward national leaders who had dedicated their lives to public service was deeply concerning. He questioned the implications of such incidents for ordinary citizens and called for greater political responsibility in public discourse.
Advocate Nareen Raja said that protecting the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and safeguarding the Constitution remained a collective responsibility. He emphasized that constitutional values, social justice, and equality should remain at the center of India’s democratic framework.
Shri Dasari Shyam Sundar reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to protecting the rights of marginalized communities and strengthening the movement against social discrimination.

Speaking at the event, AIPC MSME State President Shashank said the Congress party would continue its fight against discrimination targeting Dalit communities and would intensify its efforts to defend constitutional principles and ensure equal rights for all.
The protest witnessed the participation of, Shri Deepak John, Advocate Nareen Raja, Shri Dasari Shyam Sundar, Shashank, SC Department General Secretary Shiva Shankar, Division President Ramesh, SC Department Division Chairman Mahesh, and several Congress leaders and party workers.
The programme concluded with participants reiterating their commitment to preserving the Constitution, promoting social justice, and protecting democratic values.
