India and the United States Deepen Defence Ties Through 29th Army-to-Army Staff Talks
India and the United States held the 29th Army-to-Army Staff Talks in Hawaii on 6 June 2026, further strengthening their growing defence partnership and military cooperation. The discussions focused on enhancing interoperability, professional military exchanges, joint training initiatives, and strategic coordination in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Indian delegation was co-chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (Strategy), while the US side was led by Lieutenant General Joel Vowell, Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Army Pacific.
Army-to-Army Staff Talks serve as an important institutional mechanism for discussing operational cooperation, military doctrine, logistics, and future defence engagements between the two countries.
