Jaipur has earned global recognition by securing the 6th position in the Happy City Index 2026, making it the only Indian city to feature among the world’s top 10 happiest cities. The ranking highlights Jaipur’s excellence in quality of life, governance, urban development, healthcare, environment, mobility, and overall well-being.
According to the latest Happy City Index, London topped the global rankings, followed by New York City, Paris, Tokyo, and Madrid, with Jaipur securing the sixth spot.
Jaipur’s achievement is attributed to its unique blend of rich cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, smart city initiatives, strong tourism sector, and citizen-centric governance. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur has successfully balanced heritage conservation with rapid urban development, improving public services, transportation, and sustainability.
The recognition reflects India’s growing focus on creating livable and sustainable urban spaces while preserving cultural identity. Jaipur’s inclusion among the world’s happiest cities is expected to further boost tourism, investment, and its reputation as one of India’s leading heritage destinations.
