The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), established in 1991 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is repositioning itself to lead India’s next wave of digital transformation. Originally created to boost software exports, STPI now plays a vital role in nurturing India’s tech ecosystem.
STPI manages the Software Technology Park (STP) and Electronics Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) schemes, facilitating duty-free imports for software exporters and helping businesses comply with customs, taxation, and foreign exchange regulations.
Key services include:
- Plug-and-play infrastructure with high-speed internet and data centers.
- Customs and compliance support for seamless export operations.
- Business consulting on tax benefits, export documentation, and regulatory assistance.
To strengthen the startup ecosystem, STPI has launched several Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) and the Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS), fostering innovation in AI, blockchain, cybersecurity, IoT, and more across India.
As digitalization expands across sectors, STPI’s strategic evolution promises to anchor India’s growth as a global technology and innovation powerhouse.
