India has joined 18 other countries in the ongoing Talisman Sabre 2025, a major multinational military exercise led by Australia and the United States. This biennial drill, launched in 2005, is the largest and most sophisticated edition to date, bringing together over 35,000 troops across land, sea, and air operations in Australia.
The exercise includes live-fire drills, amphibious landings, joint air combat, maritime security missions, and field training exercises. It is designed to strengthen interoperability, strategic coordination, and crisis response among participating nations.
Alongside India, forces from countries like Japan, France, Germany, the UK, South Korea, Indonesia, and Canada are taking part. Malaysia and Vietnam are attending as observers, reflecting growing interest in regional security.
India’s participation signals its growing role in the Indo-Pacific and its commitment to a rules-based international order. The exercise also enhances India’s joint military readiness and operational synergy with key global partners.
Talisman Sabre 2025 underscores the collective aim of maintaining peace, stability, and maritime freedom in the Indo-Pacific region.
