A total of 45 teachers across India have been selected for the National Best Teacher Awards 2025. Among them, three teachers from Andhra Pradesh and one from Telangana have been chosen. The awards will be presented by the President of India on September 5, Teacher’s Day, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
Andhra Pradesh Awardees
- Merada Devanand Kumar (YSR District) – Head of the Telugu Department, Mailavaram College. Recognized for his research in Telugu literature, infrastructure development worth ₹12 crore, and cultural initiatives.
- Viswanatham Ashok Vijayalakshmi Kashinath (Vijayawada) – Principal, Oxford High School. With 28 years of service, she has introduced innovative teaching methods, published 150+ research papers, authored books, and won several national awards.
- Madapathula Tirumala Sridevi – Honored for adopting modern teaching practices and inspiring students with her motto, “Come to learn slowly… Go to serve the nation.”
Award Highlights
Each awardee will receive a medal, certificate, and ₹50,000 cash prize. The multi-level selection process ensures the recognition of outstanding teachers from across the country, honoring their role in educational progress and social development.
