Hyderabad to Host First Japan Excellence Skill Centre at JB Educational Society
Hyderabad: The Japan Education Center and Information Foundation (JECI) is set to inaugurate its first Excellence Skill Centre in Telangana at JB Educational Society (JBES), Hyderabad, on September 8, 2025. The initiative marks a significant milestone in strengthening India–Japan collaboration in education, skill development, and cultural exchange.
The inauguration ceremony will be graced by Mr. Kazunari Matsumoto, Senior Government Official and Vice Chairman of the Japan Karate Federation; Mr. Hiroaki Adachi, Senior Telecommunications & HR Industry Professional and Cross-Border Management Consultant; Capt. Raj Adhikary, President & CEO of JECI; Shri J. V. Krishna Rao, Secretary and Director of JBES; Prof. Ch. Sanjay; and the principals of JBIET, BPC, BLC, and BEC.
JECI, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering Japan–India educational and cultural ties, envisions establishing Japan Excellence Skill Centres across schools, universities, and vocational training institutions. The Hyderabad centre will serve as a hub for Japanese language training, workplace skill development, and career-oriented programs aligned with Japanese industry standards.
The initiative also integrates Total Quality Management (TQM) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), complementing national initiatives such as Skill India, Make in India, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. With India’s youthful workforce (66% under the age of 35) and Japan’s demographic challenges, the program is expected to create mutual opportunities through educational exchange, skill migration, and global employability.
Students and professionals will have access to fast-track Japanese language programs, workplace culture training, business etiquette, and professional ethics rooted in Japanese principles like Kaizen, Gemba, and lean management. The centre will also offer internships in Japan, industrial visits, placement opportunities, and sector-specific training in healthcare, IT, manufacturing, agriculture, and hospitality.
By bridging academic learning with global career prospects, the JBES–JECI collaboration is positioned to play a vital role in producing world-class skilled professionals for Japanese companies worldwide, while strengthening India–Japan relations in education and workforce development.
