NHAI Revises FASTag Annual Pass Fee from April 2026

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the FASTag Annual Pass fee, which will come into effect from April 1, 2026. According to the official order issued on March 12, the annual pass fee for private non-commercial vehicles has been increased slightly from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075.

The FASTag Annual Pass was introduced in 2025 to simplify toll payments for frequent highway users and encourage digital toll collection across national highways. The scheme is designed mainly for private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans that are equipped with a valid FASTag account.

Once the annual pass is activated, vehicle owners can cross toll plazas on national highways up to 200 times within one year, or until the limit of crossings is reached, whichever comes first. This system helps regular commuters avoid repeated toll deductions during frequent travel.

FASTag has become the primary method of toll payment in India since its nationwide rollout in 2016. According to government data, around 11.86 crore FASTags have been issued, with nearly 5.9 crore currently active.

The FASTag Annual Pass has also gained popularity among highway travelers. Data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways indicates that over 50 lakh users are currently using the annual pass, and about 28 percent of toll transactions by private cars on national highways are processed through this system.

The fee revision reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen digital toll infrastructure and improve highway travel efficiency across the country.
