Congress leaders commend the inaugural batch for its commitment to a progressive and inclusive India
New Delhi: A special interaction was held at Indira Bhawan to mark the completion of the inaugural batch of the Dr Manmohan Singh Fellowship. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra interacted with the fellows and heard their experiences, ideas and aspirations.
The Congress leaders congratulated the participants on completing the fellowship and appreciated their commitment to public service and democratic values.
“Young people with progressive ideas must actively contribute to shaping India’s democratic and inclusive future,” the leaders observed during the interaction.
Newly appointed All India Professionals’ Congress Chairman and former MP Madhu Goud Yaskhi attended the programme alongside Rajya Sabha MP and former AIPC Chairman Praveen Chakravarty.
Announcing the continuation of the initiative, Yaskhi said:
“Applications for the second batch of the Dr Manmohan Singh Fellowship will open shortly. We look forward to encouraging another group of committed young leaders.”
The fellows also shared how the programme had broadened their understanding of politics, public policy and grassroots issues. They expressed their willingness to apply the experience gained through the fellowship in public and professional life.
Sharing details of the programme on his official social media account, Chakravarty said Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had a lively interaction with the fellows and complimented them for their “passion for a progressive India.”
According to party sources, Madhu Goud Yaskhi is expected to formally assume charge as AIPC Chairman next week, marking the beginning of a new phase in the organisation’s national outreach.
