Young Leaders Take Center Stage at DPS, Mahendra Hills’ investiture ceremony

Hyderabad, , : The DPS, Mahendra Hills Finance fair for the academic session 2023-2024 was held with grandeur and dignity on Tuesday. The event marked the school’s proud 20th year and handed over the responsibility to young students who deserve to lead with dedication and skill.

The ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Honorable Chief Guest Colonel Harpreet Singh from the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, and Guest of Honour Mr. Anup Kumar Yama, Arjuna Awardee and World Skating Champion. Mr. K S Rao, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hyderabad, along with Chairman Mr. M. Komariah, Director Mrs. Pallavi, and COO Yashasvi Malka, also attended the event.

The proceedings began with the lighting of the Lamp of Knowledge and the soulful rendition of the School Prayer, creating an atmosphere of unity and dynamism. The student council members, elected through nominations, voting, and rigorous interviews, were administered the oath and adorned with badges and sashes by the Chief Guest.

Principal Ms. Nandita Sunkara encouraged the young leaders to embrace their roles with determination, emphasizing the importance of their responsibilities. Mr. Komariah stressed on the legacy of values, including Discipline, Knowledge, Love, and Service, that the school aims to pass on.

COO Mr. Yasasvi congratulated the student council members and urged them to carry the torch of quality education forward, making the school a premier institution in the country.

Chief Guest Colonel Harpreet Singh advised the young leaders to be impartial and honest in their duties, while upholding the school’s values. He reminded them that leadership comes with responsibility, and challenges can lead to remarkable achievements.

The newly elected student council members pledged to uphold the school motto, “Service Before Self,” with enthusiasm, character, and competence. The school’s head boy and head girl delivered their maiden speeches, as did the young leaders from EY Cambridge.

The ceremony also featured mesmerizing dance performances, a G-20 formation showcasing India’s presidency, and a power-packed aerobics drill themed “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
