Ministry of Ayush Launches Yoga Park Portal to Transform Public Parks into Wellness Hubs

By Soniya:

The Ministry of Ayush has launched the Yoga Park Portal, a nationwide initiative aimed at transforming public parks into dedicated wellness spaces for yoga, meditation, and preventive healthcare. The initiative seeks to make holistic wellness practices more accessible by utilizing existing public spaces across both urban and rural India.

Launched by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, during the International Day of Yoga 2026 countdown event in Khajuraho, the portal provides guidelines, registration facilities, and implementation support for creating Yoga Parks nationwide.

The initiative encourages participation from local governments, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Urban Local Bodies, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), NGOs, yoga institutions, and corporate organizations through CSR initiatives. These parks are envisioned as year-round wellness centers promoting regular yoga practice, meditation, mindfulness, and healthy lifestyles.

Key features of Yoga Parks may include dedicated yoga platforms, meditation zones, green landscapes, community wellness spaces, and open-air activity areas. By creating accessible wellness hubs, the Ministry aims to strengthen preventive healthcare, improve community well-being, and encourage greater public participation in health-focused activities.

The Yoga Park Portal represents an important step toward integrating yoga and wellness into daily life while supporting India’s broader vision of a healthier and more mindful society.
