Hyderabad,: The Rotary Club of Hyderabad Midtown welcomed District Governor Rtn Sharath Choudary on his official visit to the club. Accompanying him were Assistant Governor Rtn Shanthi Priya and Deputy Governor Rtn Seetha Vuppala.
Club President Rtn Amardeep Singh extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, expressing gratitude to club members for their unwavering support. He also sought guidance from the District Governor to further enhance the club’s initiatives and take it to greater heights.
Secretary Rtn Hajira Adeeb presented the club’s performance report, highlighting key achievements and ongoing projects.
In his address, District Governor Rtn Sharath Choudary commended the club’s impactful community service projects under the leadership of President Amardeep Singh. He particularly lauded a remarkable initiative led by Secretary Hajira Adeeb, who independently raised ₹7.5 lakh to fund a skull surgery for a patient from an underprivileged background.
Emphasizing the importance of expanding Rotary’s reach, Choudary stated that Rotarians are seen as changemakers who transform lives, and urged members to bring in more like-minded individuals to further Rotary’s mission. He also recalled a success story where multiple Rotary clubs collaborated to provide food supplies to flood-affected families in Khammam district.
Reflecting on his long association with RC Hyderabad Midtown, Choudary shared fond memories from over two decades ago when he was an emerging Rotarian in the club.
During the event, DG Choudary honored Rtn Vijay Laxmi Shekhawat for her outstanding service to Rotary, Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation Rtn PSN Prasad and Ann Rtn Rama Devi, and IPP Rtn Nidhi Anand for her leadership in identifying and spearheading Global Grant projects focused on community welfare.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Secretary Hajira Adeeb, acknowledging the contributions of all attendees in making the event successful and memorable. The event was coordinated by Past President Rtn Seema Kunar.
