Special Ramzan Hours for Muslim Staff in Telangana

Telangana’s Ramzan Gesture: Early Leave for Muslims

The Telangana government has issued orders giving one hour time to Muslim government employees to leave their places of work one hour in advance during the holy month of Ramzan, in respect of their religious commitments. These instructions shall be applicable to all the government sectors, including the employees who are working on a contractual and outsourcing basis, in different government sectors, all over the state, from March 12 to April 11, 2024.

Service/Contract/Outsourcing Boards: The employees working on service/contract/out-sourcing boards of the Public Sector/Schools of the State shall leave Offices/Schools at 4.00 pm during the Holy Month of ‘RAMZAN’

These employees have been facilitated with the view that their fast is easily observed, along with prayers and rituals associated with the holy month of Ramzan. This would be to provide employees with the freedom to perform religious duties and would not affect any essential service or operational necessity.

“It is a very well thought-out gesture by the government of Telangana, which in true reflection reflects the due commitment on their part towards building an all-inclusive and respectful work environment, understanding that people come from different cultural and religious diversities.
