India to Host BRICS National Security Advisers’ Meeting 2026, Focus on Emerging Security Challenges

By Soniya:

India is set to host the BRICS National Security Advisers’ (NSA) Meeting on June 22–23, 2026, bringing together top security officials from BRICS member countries to discuss emerging global security challenges and strengthen cooperation on counter-terrorism and cyber security.

The meeting will be chaired by India’s National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, and will be attended by National Security Advisers and Heads of Delegation from BRICS nations, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and Iran. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and senior Iranian representatives are also expected to participate in the discussions.

The central theme of the meeting is “Non-traditional Security Challenges Confronting the World Today.” Delegates will deliberate on evolving security threats, cyber risks, technological challenges, terrorism, and other transnational issues affecting global stability.

A key agenda item will be the review of recommendations made by the BRICS Joint Working Groups on Counter-Terrorism and Security in the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The meeting will also serve as an important preparatory platform for the BRICS Summit scheduled to be held in India in September 2026.

As global security challenges become increasingly interconnected, the BRICS security dialogue aims to enhance coordination among member countries and promote collective responses to emerging threats. The meeting underscores India’s growing role in shaping international discussions on security, digital governance, and counter-terrorism cooperation.
