Addatimes, the nation’s first Bengali OTT platform, is now owned by Surinder Films

Surinder Productions, a film production business with its headquarters in Kolkata, has purchased Addatimes, the nation’s first Bengali on-demand OTT platform. One of Kolkata’s most renowned and well-known production companies, Surinder Films is known for its high calibre, inventiveness, and entertaining content.

With over 100 Bengali films under its belt, Surinder Films has established itself as one of the leading names in the industry by creating more than 6000 hours of television programming for all the major TV networks. The first platform to produce original web series, short films, Bengali video songs, short love stories, detective movies, thrillers and suspense plays, and comedy series for the Bengali audience was Addatimes, which was founded in 2016.

“We have been in the business of producing, distributing, and creating material for national and regional networks in Bengali. In the current environment, we discovered that OTT Platforms have tremendous development potential and that now is the ideal time to invest in them.

As a result, we made the decision to buy Addatimes, the first Bengali OTT platform. Here, we’ll be producing and acquiring content across a range of genres while keeping the audience’s interests in mind. We already have a diverse lineup of high-profile Bengali films and web series that we plan to show soon. We anticipate an amazing voyage in terms of creativity,” said Mr. Nispal Singh, director of Surinder Films Pvt Ltd.

Amriter Sandhane – The Banaras Chapter, marking the event of Poila Boishak, will be the first online series after acquisition to be streamed on Addatimes, beginning on April 14, 2023. (Bengali New Year). This eight-episode television series is a mythical thriller set in Varanasi. Amriter Sandhane – The Banaras Chapter, which is being directed by Abhinandan Dutta, stars Chandan Roy Sanyal, Sauraseni Maitra, and Debasish Mondal among others.

After that, there will be the hilarious series Gentleman, which is being directed by Korak Murmu and stars Joy Sengupta, Mir Afsar Ali, Rudranil Ghosh, and Madhurima Basak. Men will start steaming in May 2023.

Aside from this, Addatimes will also digitally debut a number of major feature films in the next months, including Mitin Mashi, Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan & Magic, Kaberi Antardhan (on March 26, 2023), and many more. Following their theatrical releases, new movies like Love Marriage, Bhootpori, Ardhangini, Paakhi, Tarakar Mrityu & Tenida will get their digital premieres on Addatimes.

“We initially intend to offer 15 to 18 original materials annually. In terms of the movies, there would be more than one release per month, Mr. Singh noted. The Play Store, App Store, Android TV, Fire TV, and Samsung TV will all offer Addatimes. The annual subscription plans cost 799 INR for a single screen and 1199 INR for two displays.
