Rockefeller Foundation’s 2025 Impact Report Highlights $32 Billion Global Development Push

The Rockefeller Foundation has released its 2025 Impact Report titled “Big Bets, Real Results”, showcasing major global development initiatives supported through grants, investments, and partnerships across multiple sectors including energy, healthcare, food security, and education.

According to the report released on 18 May 2026, the Foundation awarded more than US$350 million through 235 grants and programme-related investments to 204 partners worldwide during 2025.

$32 Billion Capital Mobilised Globally

The Foundation stated that its funding efforts directly mobilised around US$3 billion and helped generate an additional US$29 billion in indirect capital, taking the total capital mobilisation to nearly US$32 billion in 2025.

Its programmes covered regions including:

  • Africa
  • Asia
  • Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Europe
  • United States

Focus Areas: Energy, Health and Nutrition

The report highlighted several flagship initiatives focused on sustainable development and social welfare.

Major programme areas included:

  • Universal Energy Abundance
  • Food is Medicine initiatives in the United States
  • Regenerative School Meals programmes globally

The Foundation also reported successful interventions such as AI-powered disease alert systems in Latin America, school meal programmes in Kenya, and clean energy projects in Haiti and India.

Mission 300 and Clean Energy Push in Africa

One of the major highlights was the Foundation’s support for Mission 300, an initiative aimed at providing electricity access to 300 million people in Africa by 2030.

Since 2024, the Rockefeller Foundation has committed over US$100 million alongside the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet to support the programme.

The report also emphasised clean cooking initiatives launched in partnership with the Clean Cooking Alliance and Energy Corps to reduce dependence on traditional cooking fuels like biomass and charcoal across Africa.

Global Reach and Impact

According to the Foundation, around 731 million people were reached globally through its programmes in 2025, while nearly 3 million people experienced measurable direct outcomes from interventions.

Founded in 1913 in the United States, the Rockefeller Foundation remains one of the world’s leading philanthropic institutions supporting global development, healthcare, sustainability, and poverty reduction initiatives.
