PM Modi’s 127th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Highlights Cultural Pride, Eco-Innovation & National Heritage

On 26 October 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 127th episode of Mann Ki Baat, celebrating India’s cultural unity, environmental innovation, and indigenous pride. The broadcast also spotlighted youth-led Sanskrit revival and called for nationwide participation in the 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram.”

Festivals and ‘Vocal for Local’

Greeting citizens on Diwali and Chhath Puja, the PM lauded women’s devotion and urged everyone to experience Chhath’s community spirit. He praised rising demand for indigenous products during GST Bachat Utsav and encouraged citizens to reduce edible oil consumption by 10 percent, reinforcing Atmanirbhar Bharat and mindful living.

Innovation for the Environment

  • Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh: Garbage Café offers meals in exchange for plastic waste, tackling pollution and hunger.
  • Bengaluru: Engineer Kapil Sharma revived 40 wells and 6 lakes, showing the power of citizen-driven conservation.
  • Gujarat: Over 3,500 hectares of mangroves planted in Dholera; a Mangrove Learning Centre set up in Kutch.

Indian Dog Breeds in National Security

Forces like the BSF and CRPF now train Mudhol Hounds, Rampur Hounds, Kombai, and Pandikona breeds. Ria, a Mudhol Hound, won top honours at a national police meet — a testament to India’s indigenous strength.

150 Years of “Vande Mataram”

Marking 150 years since Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay composed the iconic song, PM Modi urged public participation in celebrations via #VandeMataram150, calling the anthem a “living symbol of unity and pride.”

Sanskrit’s Digital Revival

Young creators like Yash Salunke, Kamala, and Janhavi are bringing Sanskrit to life through reels, music, and humour — blending heritage with modern media.

Tribute to Tribal Icons

The PM honoured freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Birsa Munda, whose courage continues to inspire generations. Ahead of Janajatiya Gaurav Diwas (15 November), he emphasised preserving tribal heritage as integral to India’s identity.
